Audio-Technica AT-VMN60xSLC — Nude Special Line Contact replacement stylus with boron cantilever

The AT-VMN60xSLC is the stylus that tops the AT-VMx range. Its nude diamond has a Special Line Contact profile: a very narrow, long contact line that, when properly aligned, traces the groove with a minimal support area and spreads wear vertically. This is the cut chosen when the goal is maximum information retrieval from the groove, not just a pleasant tonal balance.

It shares the solid boron cantilever with the AT-VMN50xSH, picked for its stiffness-to-mass ratio: being lighter than aluminium, it reacts sooner to groove modulations and the top end gains air. Mounting follows the family pattern, push-fit and tool-free.

It is supplied as the replacement stylus for the AT-VM760xSLC and also upgrades any non-mono AT-VMx body, provided tracking force is reset and alignment checked. On a high-end system the setup time is worth it: the difference between a well-installed SLC and one merely pushed in shows up in sibilance cleanliness and in the silence between passages.
