The ATN91 is the conical replacement stylus for the AT91 cartridge and one of the parts Audio-Technica still keeps in production for a long list of discontinued bodies: AT90, CN5625AL and the AT3600 family, where it also serves as an upgrade from the ATN3600L.
The profile is 0.6 mil conical with a bonded round shank, mounted in the familiar yellow carrier that identifies it at a glance. Tracking force sits between 1.5 and 2.5 g, with 2.0 g as the standard figure; that is a heavier setting than the ATN3600L, so the arm must be able to balance at 2 g before fitting it.
In practice the result is a full, warm sound with solid lower midrange and a forgiving top end, the classic house balance for everyday listening. Declared life runs from 300 to 500 hours. It is the sensible spare for any AT91 or AT3600 turntable and the cheapest way to keep an older P-mount or standard-mount deck running. Available from DOYMO on request.
