Audio-Technica ATR4697-USB — Omnidirectional condenser boundary USB microphone

The ATR4697-USB is a boundary condenser built to sit on the table instead of in front of a stand. In a meeting room, a videoconference desk or a classroom it lies flat, stays clear of papers and laptops, and keeps the capsule close to the people who are speaking.

The omnidirectional capsule listens in a full 360° circle, so nobody has to lean towards it, and the 1.5 m lead ends in USB-C with a USB-C to USB-A adapter in the box for older computers. Power comes from the USB port itself: no battery, no driver, nothing to install before the first call.

The 50 Hz to 15 kHz response with -46 dB sensitivity keeps speech clear at normal conversational distance, and the solid base takes being moved from room to room. At 48 g it travels in a laptop bag and is ready for meetings, streaming, voice notes and lectures.
