Passive two-way bookshelf speaker with Uni-Q and MAT: 48 Hz - 20 kHz, 4 ohms, 86 dB and 10 - 150 W.
The Q1 Meta brings the technology of KEF's reference models into the most accessible series of the catalogue. It is a passive two-way bookshelf speaker built around a Uni-Q array with MAT, the metamaterial absorption system that removes the energy the tweeter sends back into the cabinet and delivers a cleaner top end.
Its 5.25-inch midwoofer and 1-inch tweeter share the same acoustic centre, so voices and instruments stay focused in the middle of the soundstage and the listening position becomes far less critical. The cabinet reaches down to 48 Hz within +/-3 dB, which is remarkable for its size, and its 86 dB sensitivity makes it easy to drive with practically any amplifier.
It is a speaker for those starting out in high fidelity and for those who simply want a Hifi system that does not take over the living room, equally at home on a shelf, a sideboard or a stand.
