The Cambridge Audio Solo is the moving magnet (MM) version of the company's phono preamplifier, in the same compact format as the Duo. Its job is simple: turn the turntable signal into a line-level signal ready for an integrated amplifier, active speakers or a desktop system.
The whole signal path has been optimised to keep noise out: 47 kOhm and 100 pF input with more than 30 dB overload margin, ±0.65 dB RIAA accuracy from 30 Hz to 20 kHz and total harmonic distortion below 0.0025%. Its metal chassis, external power supply and half-width format sit neatly next to the turntable without taking up space.
