KEF R2 Meta

The KEF R2 Meta is the centre channel of the R Meta Series. In a home cinema system the centre speaker carries most of the dialogue, and here KEF applies the same recipe used in its floorstanders: a 1"-5" Uni-Q array with Metamaterial Absorption Technology (MAT) and two 6.5" (165 mm) woofers in a horizontal cabinet 550 mm wide and only 175 mm tall, designed to fit under a screen or inside a cabinet.

Because the tweeter sits at the acoustic centre of the midrange cone, the Uni-Q spreads sound evenly towards every seat: dialogue is just as intelligible on the middle of the sofa as on the side chairs. MAT absorbs 99 % of the unwanted energy leaving the back of the tweeter, keeping voices clean and free of coloration. With 87 dB sensitivity and 8 ohms, it asks for 15 W to 200 W per channel.
